Sid Richardson C&E brings details

on “Energy Saving Blacks” to

Tire Technology Expo

2015-02-tire-technology-expo.gif     Members of the Sid Richardson team, including Wesley Wampler, Vice President of Research & Development, will be in attendance at the February Tire Technology Conference in Cologne, Germany (February 10th-12th). Mr. Wampler will be presenting a paper he’s authored in conjunction with the works of other key Sid Richardson C&E staff members, including: Leszek Nikiel, Michael Jacobsson, Joel Neilsen, and Peter Cameron. The paper, Energy Saver Blacks™: Carbon Blacks for Improved Tire Performance, provides details related to how the company has modified carbon blacks to provide improved rolling resistance in tires – without sacrificing other performance properties.

Mr. Wampler’s discussion of these modified carbon blacks will cover concepts and data related to:
• Filler Impact on Hysteresis
• Polymer-Filler Interaction Important for Reinforcement
• Surface Adsorption
• Polymer Interaction Coefficient
(and more)

Please come back to the Sid Report in mid-February, at which time we’ll have the full presentation available for download.
